  • January 16, 2025

The staffing industry is entering a period of change, driven by technological advancements and changing workforce priorities. Positive staffing experiences will be essential as workers increasingly demand work-life balance, diversity, and authentic professional connections. To do this, staffing professionals must balance technological innovation with human-focused strategies, ensuring they meet both organizational goals and employee needs in a competitive landscape.

In this report, we’ve highlighted the top 2025 staffing industry trends to expect this year.

2025 Staffing Industry Trends

Integration of AI Technology

As AI technology continues to grow, the staffing industry will likely turn towards increased AI implementation to boost efficiency. In fact, it’s estimated that 70% of companies will engage with AI at some point in their hiring processes in 2025. Automation tools can manage repetitive and often time-consuming tasks, such as resume screenings, which allows recruiting and hiring managers to focus on other value-add activities. Predictive analytics are also becoming a powerful tool for anticipating a company’s hiring needs and evaluating each candidate’s fit, which improves decision-making.

However, there is simultaneously a growing concern about preserving the personalization of the hiring and staffing process, as 40% of survey respondents are concerned that AI technology may compromise the personalization and humanization of hiring. While these automated and predictive processes can contribute towards efficiency, it risks establishing an impersonal staffing experience. Successful AI integration in hiring will strike a balance between efficiency and personalization, and human involvement in the staffing process remains critical to forming strong connections with candidates and evaluating applicants holistically.

Demand for Workplace Flexibility

While fully remote work has gained traction over the past few years, there are many advocates for some level of in-person interaction, and 2025 is expected to show a shift towards an increasingly in-person work environment. In 2025, 90% of companies are predicted to return to their offices in some capacity, whether that is fully in-person or in a hybrid style. This underscores the importance of face-to-face interaction and team cohesion in the IT industry especially.
