Enabling Global ERP Harmonization with Strategic SAP Expertise Deployment

A family-owned global manufacturer of outdoor power equipment, including chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, and battery-powered tools, for forestry, landscaping, agriculture, and construction markets worldwide operates as a mature SAP shop largely capable of sustaining its own global instances. But when the company launched a global ERP harmonization and transformation program, the demands of the initiative quickly outpaced what internal teams and SI partners could absorb on their own.
The challenges were both operational and structural. Internal resources lacked the bandwidth to manage expanding project responsibilities alongside day-to-day workloads, while domain knowledge on key systems had eroded over time, and US-based project teams were left without dedicated local support. A growing backlog of unresolved support and enhancement tickets began causing delays, and budget constraints ruled out traditional full-time hiring, demanding a smarter, more cost-conscious approach to bringing in expertise.
The client engaged BCTG to fill those gaps with strategic SAP expertise deployment across several critical areas. BCTG deployed a carefully selected mix of contract resources spanning SAP HCM, SAP IBP, SAP HR ABAP, MS Azure development, MS PowerBI, and data engineering, complemented by project management to coordinate local efforts and align them with broader global program objectives. This multi-disciplinary team worked to clear the ticket backlog, introduce new analytics capabilities, and strengthen the company’s data infrastructure and integration performance.
The results were tangible and wide-ranging. The client’s SAP environment was stabilized, and the business gained the ability to pursue on-demand enhancements as needs evolved. Furthermore, project governance improved significantly, with enhanced status reporting and tighter alignment between US operations and global program standards, positioning the client for continued transformation success without unnecessary overhead.
